A terrifying wailing unites three seemingly unrelated women in different decades.
Andrea feels she’s being haunted but no one, not even she, knows what is haunting her. Same with Marie twenty years earlier, unable to understand what this thing is, or why it’s happening. And then there’s Camila – the only one who may have the answers.
Pedro Martin-Calero's debut feature was co-written by Isabel Peña – the brilliant screenwriter behind recent horror hit Beasts – and is a sight to behold: adopting the structure of a matrushka doll, the relentlessly driven plot explores the horrors of an unknown supernatural entity that seems to be targeting three very specific women. The why and who are left to discover by the audience as the film weaves a web of bravura sequences which remind us of how effective high-concept horror can be when done right. Thought-provoking and chilling in equal measure.
