A chamber horror movie with deep theological roots, set in a house full of traps.
Sister Paxton and Sister Barnes are gleefully unaware that their day is about to take a turn for the very worst when they visit the house of Mr. Reed - a pleasant man seemingly really interested in the teachings of Mormonism. But inside his palace lies a dark and devilish secret.
Featuring a definitive showcase in villainy by the ever-excellent Hugh Grant (amply supported by Chloe East and Sophie Thatcher) and more twists and turns than a mountain road, this incredible piece of horror filmmaking by maestros Beck and Woods (A Quiet Place, Haunt) proves why they’re at the forefront of modern genre. The fun part is never knowing where their story is going to lead you and how. A thrill ride for the ages, Heretic is for those who loved the madness of Barbarian and who want their horror with a side of solid theological discussion. It doesn’t get much better than this.
