Trippy fever dream about three brothers who build a time machine to get their deceased mother back.
Three brothers build a time machine in order to bring their deceased mother back to life. Their already dubious experiment gets fully out of hand once their father gets involved and past and present start to interweave in a new, painful reality.
Greek director and composer Yannis Veslemes’ second feature revolves around grief and the role of memories. He wraps these themes in hallucinatory and surreal science fiction, with a special role for the time machine itself: a large wardrobe the brothers only just fit into. Determined to reestablish contact with their mother, they use drugs to descend further and further into an alternate reality. The Cronenbergian experiments, the countless transformations and the strange creatures the brothers encounter add to a fever dream feeling you just can't seem to stir from.
The screening on 27 October includes a Q&A with director Yannis Veslemes.
