Wanted: Junior programmers Imagine Fantastic Film Festival
For over forty years, Imagine has been the festival for fantastic film in the Netherlands. Over the years, it has grown into a broad and high-quality festival. Apart from the best films in fantasy, science fiction, horror, anime, martial arts and cult, Imagine offers thematic programmes, a programme for professionals, the digital programme Imagine Expanded and education for all school types.
The 41st edition will take place from 30 October to 9 November at LAB111, the FilmHallen and Galerie Beeldend Gesproken.
The programming team consists of the director and six freelance programmers. Together, they see some 400 feature films and as many short films, and develop themed programmes and specials. The programmers receive a freelance fee. Within the team, we want to train ambitious and enthusiastic fans of great films and give them a chance to develop their talent. To strengthen our team, we are looking for
Junior Programmers
We are looking for an enthusiastic film geek who:
– Has knowledge of fantastic film in the broadest sense. Fantastic television series are explicitly included in this;
– Has a broad cultural interest, who looks beyond (fantastic) film alone and can also make connections between disciplines;
– Is enthusiastic and curious, with a good nose for the new and the unusual;
– Can work under time pressure and meet deadlines;
– Has analytical skills and can express analyses and opinions well;
– Can work well in a team;
– Is willing to work outside office hours during the busy period
– Willing to give presentations, introductions and Q&As during the festival.
