The European Genre Forum (EGF) calls out to European first and second feature film makers working within genre film to submit their projects. The EGF provides a one year training cycle, consisting of three talent labs throughout 2017. A Director’s Lab, a Producer’s Lab and a Packaging Lab will provide film makers with an invaluable improvement of their current film projects and a big boost to their careers in general.
The European Genre Forum (EGF) is a collaboration between the Black Nights Film Festival (Tallinn), Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival, Imagine Film Festival and consultant Screen Division (Paris). Set up in 2014, its objective is to provide comprehensive cross sector and film life cycle training for professionals working in European fantastic film – a rapidly growing pan-Union industry that is still distinctively different from the general film industry because of unique requirements for creative and fiscal development, production characteristics and distribution and monetizing networks. As of 2017, the EGF is supported by the MEDIA Programme of Creative Europe.
The training cycle consists of three talent labs throughout 2017: a Director’s Lab in April (at Imagine, Amsterdam), a Producer’s Lab in July (at Fantastic Zagreb) and a Packaging Lab in November (at Black Nights, Tallinn).
The EGF is aimed at European first or second feature director/producer teams developing a genre film project. Genre film includes horror, science fiction and fantasy. Participants should previously have directed/produced at least one short film that has been screened internationally. If you are working on your first or second feature film project, the EGF might be for you.
