The 48 Hour Film Project is an international filmmaking competition in which teams battle it out to make the best short film in 48 hours. The teams are given three mandatory elements to be included in the film: a character, a sentence and an object. They are also randomly assigned a genre to work with. At Imagine Fantastic Film Festival, the genres are science fiction, fantasy, cult and horror.

Imagine is joining forces with 48 Hour Film Project for the third time. Twenty teams will take on the challenge. The kick-off is on the evening of Friday, October 25th. On October 28th,  the films will be shown on the big screen during the festival, and the jury will award their favourites. The winner of Best Film will also be screened during Imagine’s Nieuw Nederlands Peil shorts compilation and at Filmapalooza, the international 48 Hour Film Project film festival, taking place in Seattle in March.
