After being kidnapped by two psychopaths, Eve manages to escape and hides in a forest. A wild and grueling cat-and-mouse-game ensues.

Eve meets what she thinks is a charming guy in a bar. Yet things go terribly wrong once she realizes she’s come across a psychopath and his puppet accomplice. Apart from gruesome, Hunted is also blackly comic and full of inventive visual and auditive tricks. But ultimately, this is a cat-and-mouse-game taking it to the very limit – and beyond.

Unlike the average rape/revenge film, in which the perspective lies mainly with the victim, Hunted changes perspective regularly. When it finally shifts back to Eve, she’s become a mythical creature of sorts, a Little Red Riding Hood protected by nature and part of the natural world. As the trailer states: ‘The company of wolves is better than that of man.’ Directed by the co-director of the Oscar nominated film adaptation of Marjane Satrapi’s graphic novel Persepolis (2007), Hunted is blackly comic and full of inventive visual and auditive tricks. But ultimately, this is a cat-and-mouse-game taking it to the very limit – and beyond.
