I See You

Ominous family drama in the vein of Stephen King turns into a thriller that’s as ingeniously composed as it is bloodcurdling in the second half.

The Harper family is going through a tough time. While the father, a police detective, is racking his brain over a missing person’s case, the mother is having an affair, evoking the rage of their son, and then there also appear to be some supernatural elements at play.  I See You is one of those thrillers for which even the briefest of plot descriptions could still be a spoiler. Imagine a reviewer at the time of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960) revealing that Norman Bates and his ‘mother’ were the same person. The potential viewer of I See You should go into the movie as blank as possible, knowing only that nothing is as it seems, starting with the aforementioned reference to Stephen King. An American website gave this hint: ‘two films for the price of one’. Now if that doesn’t spark your curiosity…
