Our yearly showcase of Dutch fantastic shorts consists of four compilations this year. This third session comes with strange creatures aplenty, including a mermaid who may or may not be trustworthy, or a bunch of very slow robots. Not strange, but lost: an astronaut who’s been abandoned on the moon. We'd rather witness earth’s creation, cause that comes with coffee.
All the filmmakers wil be present for Q&As during this screening.
A TV mockumentary and loving parody of 1970s educational videos in one, Our Friend the Robot attempts to teach the audience what goes on inside these futuristic metallic beings. The set design, visuals and hilarious deadpan tone are all excellent.

A lonely astronaut is left behind on the moon after his coming out. This free flowing stop motion short was based on director Robin Noorda’s eponymous poem which tackles social and environmental issues.
